Franz Malmholt – the person behind the books

A life became stories

My life has taken me through experiences few people encounter. From childhood in Herfølge through years in Australia and Vietnam to life in Denmark, each period has left its mark and provided material for the books I write today.

I have always wanted to tell stories with honesty and respect for the people and events that shaped my life. My books draw on experience and many years spent turning memories into coherent stories.

Today I am working on Beyond the Horizon, a ten-volume autobiography following an entire life from the early years in Denmark to events across several continents. I also write historical novels and other stories in which people are always at the centre.

My aim is to write books readers want to return to, and which retain their value long after the final page has been read.
